Sportsman Channel’s Second Quarter Original Programming Line-up Brings Outdoor Experts, Adventure Series and Specials

Sportsman Channel’s Q2 program lineup is teeming with 470 new episodes beginning March 30. Sportsman’s lineup is devoted to honoring a lifestyle that is celebrated by millions of Americans and revels in the attitude of “Red, Wild & Blue America” – where the American spirit and great outdoors are celebrated in equal measure. The network will deliver entertaining and informative programming that showcases outdoor adventure, hunting and fishing, and illustrates it through unique and authentic storytelling.

The Q2 lineup is part of the network’s “Red, Wild & Blue” initiative – where the American spirit and the great outdoors are celebrated in equal measure. Highlights include:
Apex Predator (premiering April 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) – By deconstructing nature and challenging himself to adopt the primal traits of the world’s top hunters, Remi Warren is on a mission to understand what it means to be a true Apex Predator.
Shed Wars (premiering May 21 at 8 p.m. ET/PT) Shed Wars will focus on the entire life cycle of the shed antler season, from the adventure and danger of the hunt to the economics and bargaining of the antler market. The adventure series follows the stories of four of the best shed hunting teams in America as they go through a season in the Rocky Mountains. In every episode the audience will witness the moment when a prospector strikes it rich…or strikes out for good.
Sheep Shape (premiering June 25 at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT): Sheep Shape is a documentary-reality style program that will follow hunters Chad Hall, Rick Carone, Kelsie Burford and Patrick Scrogin on one of the most extreme and challenging mountain hunting quests in North America – hunting North American wild sheep. The program will test the mind, body and soul of each hunter by first putting them through a grueling training program to prepare them for these difficult high country hunts. Each hunter’s story will unfold from their personal life challenges, through the training program and hunt preparations, to the actual hunts.
Saving Private K-9 (sophomore season returning April 23 at 9 p.m. ET/PT): Hosted by Lt. Col. Oliver North, this award-winning series highlights military dogs battlefield training, heroic accomplishments, and relationships with their handlers – as well as their impact on those who have worked with them.
NRA Life of Duty (new episodes premiering May 7 at 9:30 p.m. ET/PT): Sportsman secured exclusive rights to the series celebrating heroes of our military and homeland.
Choose Your Weapon (premiering on April 4 at 9 p.m. ET/PT): Moving over from sister network Outdoor Channel, Choose Your Weapon is about exploring the extremes and pushing the boundaries of equipment, methods, and disciplines to help hunters discover the right weapon for the right job. Hosts Jim Burnworth and Ray Bunney start each show by picking one animal or style of hunting then dig into the facts and myths surrounding their weapon choices. These seasoned experts shoot and evaluate the primary tools of the hunting trade and help hunters discover a particular weapon’s place and purpose in the hunting world.
Jimmy Big Time (premiering April 2 at 10 p.m. ET/PT) – Another Outdoor Channel show that will make its debut on Sportsman Channel in 2Q, Jimmy Big Time is a tongue-in-cheek “mockumentary” that goes behind the scenes of fictional hunting and fishing legend Jimmy “Big Time” Miller to show how his outdoor television program is made. See what it takes to produce this “award-winning” show, the people that make Jimmy who he is, and the machine the world knows as “Jimmy Big Time”.
Reel Time Florida Sportsman (returning April 5 at 8:30 a.m. ET) – It’s time to find the shortest route to the hottest bite. We scan Florida Sportsman’s Regional Forums for the best fishing reports, then travel to make Reel anglers our local guides. Together, Sportsman lets viewers in on the secret spots and hometown moves. Florida Sportsman will send a professional film crew and RTFS host Capt. George Gozdz on the road in search of the hottest action. Each episode begins with George reviewing the hottest action in the state, based on the most current fishing reports from the region forums. The show proceeds to follow George as he hooks up his boat and packs up his gear to fish with the Florida Sportsman member who posted the best bet of the week.

Attack of the Bass (April 11, 8-11 a.m. and 4-8 p.m. ET): The annual fishing programming event, Attack of the Bass, presented by Can-Am Off-Road vehicles, returns for one special Saturday. No place on TV will provide more bass fishing action and expertise with two blocks of marathons – just in time for the fishing season.
Easton Bowhunting TV (April 3 at 10 p.m. ET): This three-part series honors the show’s 10th Anniversary and revisits the history of Easton and Easton Bowhunting, including a few of Fred Eichler’s crazy hunting adventures while pursing the Super Slam with a recurve bow.
Hot Shots (April 20 & 27 at 10 p.m. ET): In the two-part episode, Pistol Champion Max Michel tries to win his first-ever International Practical Shooting Federation World Championship, but trouble finds him every step of the way.
Skullbound TV (May 13 at 8:30 p.m. ET): Jana Waller takes retired Navy SEAL, Bo Reichenbach, who lost his legs to an IED in Afghanistan, searching for his first bull elk. His father Don accompanies his son in their very first hunt together. True grit defines this epic warrior’s heart, spirit and soul as Bo climbs Montana’s rugged terrain for seven days in hopes of notching his tag. The highs and lows of this hunt will have you in awe as the Navy SEAL in Bo comes out in full force.
Away presented by Go RVing (May 2, 4-6 p.m. ET) – From a family that likes to camp close to home to a group of 40-something guys reuniting to fish for a weekend, these outdoor-minded folks utilize their recreational vehicles to make their journey in the outdoors even easier.
