DENVER (August 8, 2022) – In 1937 during the Dust Bowl when North America’s drought-plagued waterfowl populations plunged to unprecedented lows, a determined group of sportsmen joined together to form an organization that became known as “Ducks Unlimited.” From this organization spawned the outdoor television show that today celebrates its 25th season on air – Ducks Unlimited TV (DU TV) – and is seen on Sportsman Channel (Saturdays at 2 p.m. ET).

Premiering in 1997, DU TV is the longest running conservation-based hunting show ever. In that time, it is estimated the series has influenced more than 40 million unique viewers with its messages of wise-use conservation, ethical hunting, as well as waterfowl and wetland restoration and management. The show began on “The Nashville Network” before moving to Outdoor Channel and, subsequently, to Sportsman Channel in 2021. During the last quarter century, the series has filmed in more than 350 locations across North America (United States, Canada and Mexico).

The show has featured multiple short informative segments over the years including: “Waterfowling Tip of the Week,” “Duck Dog,” “Insights” and “Duck Talk.” Cooking tips were also featured for many seasons.

Actor Jameson Parker (Simon and Simon) was the original host of DU TV during its first two seasons. The show has featured 16 co-hosts throughout its 25-year run with the late outdoor writer and conservationist Wade Bourne becoming synonymous with DU TV. Current hosts are Fred Zink, Doug Larsen and Betsy Newbill.

Ducks Unlimited is a wetlands and waterfowl conservation organization supported by a strong membership base of conservationists and outdoor enthusiasts living primarily throughout the United States, Canada and Mexico. Thanks to 85 years of abiding by that single mission, Ducks Unlimited is now the largest and most effective private, nonprofit, waterfowl and wetlands conservation organization in the world.

Ducks Unlimited TV airs Saturdays at 2 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel and anchors “The Landing Zone presented by Ducks Unlimited” waterfowl and upland hunting lineup. Bonus content and classic episodes can be found at www.ducks.org/dutv.

Ducks Unlimited TV sponsors include: Drake Waterfowl, Browning Arms and Ammunition, Mossy Oak, Higdon Decoys, Purina, Tetra Hearing and Rolling Thunder Game Calls.

Ducks Unlimited Inc. is the world's largest nonprofit organization dedicated to conserving North America's continually disappearing waterfowl habitats. Established in 1937, Ducks Unlimited has conserved more than 15 million acres thanks to contributions from more than a million supporters across the continent. Guided by science and dedicated to program efficiency, DU works toward the vision of wetlands sufficient to fill the skies with waterfowl today, tomorrow and forever.
