No place on TV will provide more hard-hitting bass fishing action and expertise – just in time for the fishing season – with a three-hour block from 8-11 a.m. ET and continuing at 4-8 p.m. ET with new content.

aotbTune in for greats like: Bill Dance, Shaw Grigsby and the In-Fisherman staff, as the crews show viewers how to fish for bass in any water, any condition, any time.

Attack of the Bass presented by Can-Am will air on Saturday, April 11 with seven hours of bass fishing programming at 8-11 a.m. ET and continuing at 4-8 p.m. ET.

Sportsman’s lineup includes (all times eastern):

8:00 a.m.King of the River – Andre goes for striped bass at the mouth of the Petit Pabos River. He meets Rene, a local guide, at the crossing of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the mouth of the Petit Pabos River where they find great action.

8:30 a.m.Extreme Angler TV – What starts out as a calm overcast morning in July, turns into a cool northern wind, which gives the smallmouth bass a ‘lockjaw.’ This quick change forces Karl to abandon his original game plan in order to keep catching bass on a day when they don’t want to eat.

9:00 a.m.One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – Shaw enjoys the privilege of introducing Iraq War veteran Alex Brown to some of Florida’s best bass fishing on a near-secret body of water known as Lake X. It’s a rare fragment of Old Florida, wild and unspoiled.

9:30 a.m.Gypsy Anger with Ray Van Horn – Ray Van Horn and guest Scott Martin fish Scott’s home lake for largemouth bass on Florida’s Lake Okeechobee.

10:00 a.m.Strike King’s Fish Hard – Fisherman Mark Zona aka “Z-Train” is more like a full-blown locomotive in the beautiful waters of northern Michigan. Pursuing smallmouth bass with Strike King’s Mark Copley, the typical Zona energy is full steam ahead near Traverse City as the two prove that early November can be a great time for smallmouth.

10:30 a.m.Lake Commandos – Mark McQuown of Garmin shows host Steve Pennez his “East Coast” toughness.

4:00 p.m. – Bill Dance Outdoors – Bill Dance joins his friend, Captain Mike Tipton, in eastern Florida for some unusual air boat bass fishing.

4:30 p.m. – Bill Dance Outdoors – There always will be a few bass in the shallows that can be caught. That fact probably accounts for all the recent attention the shallow swimmer crank bait is getting. Today’s show answers questions about this super lure that will up the odds greatly for bass fishing success.

5:00 p.m. – In-Fisherman TV – The In-Fisherman staff reveals some of the season’s hottest lures, as they double-rig for world-class smallmouths, use swimmer systems for weededge walleyes, and rig weighted swimbait hooks and craws for shallow largemouths.

5:30 p.m. – In-Fisherman TV – The In-Fisherman staff use sight-fishing tactics for smallmouth bass, reveal the hottest jig trailers for largemouth bass, and buzz up some of the biggest muskies.

6:00 p.m. – Strike King’s Fish Hard – Near Traverse City, Michigan is some of the best waters in the country for chasing world-class smallmouth bass. Mark “Z-Train” Zona and Strike King’s John Barns attempt to utilize a technique almost never used in those northern waters…the umbrella rig.

6:30 p.m. – Strike King’s Fish Hard – While the rest of the country suffers frigid temperatures and heavy snowfall, FLW Tour angler Mark Rose is heating up the fishing waters of southern Florida’s Lake Okeechobee.

7:00 p.m. – One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – In the deep, clear currents of the St. Lawrence River in the North Country of New York State, often a bait is needed with the weight and compactness to go down and stay there. Shaw works it all out with his buddy Brian Jensen, who’s armed with his digital-mapping app.

7:30 p.m. – One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – On some typical public bass waters in the South – warm, shallow, and weedy – Shaw reveals one of the hottest weapons in his arsenal: the square-lipped crankbait. With its erratic “hunting” action, this special lure triggers strikes from lunkers when other baits get the old ho-hum. Shaw hangs ’em, they run and jump and then burrow in bales of hydrilla.

Illinois Painter Goes for Monster Muleys on Sportsman Channel’s “Brotherhood Outdoors” on Sunday, April 5 at 11 a.m. ET

NEW BERLIN, WI (April 1, 2015) – On Sunday’s episode of Brotherhood Outdoors presented by Bank of Labor, Union Sportsmen’s Alliance member, Steve Lefaver, leaves his comfortable home in Montgomery, Ill. for the rustic, chilly surroundings of Lewiston, Mont. in search for his first monster muley. Tune in to see all the action on Brotherhood Outdoors on Sportsman Channel on Sunday, April 5 at 11 a.m. ET.

See a preview of the episode here.

brotherhoodoutdoorsLefaver is the Director of Apprenticeship and Training for Painters District Council 30, Local 448 in Montgomery, Ill. After a challenging start to hunting in crowded public lands in the Chicago suburbs, Lefaver is beyond excited to hunt in Big Sky Country with Brotherhood Outdoors’ hosts Daniel Lee Martin and Julie McQueen. “Once I heard Julie McQueen’s voice asking if I would be interested in filming a hunt with her and Daniel Lee in Montana, I was super excited – and I didn’t necessarily believe it at the time!” exclaimed Lefaver.

Once he laid tracks on the nearly 7,000 acres of Bear Paw Outfitters, Lefaver’s excitement grew – and so did the cold. “I’m not used to covering this much land to track deer as we usually sit stationary in a treestand waiting for a deer to cross our path,” said Lefaver.

Bachman’s decoys were put to the test as buck after buck came in to put on a show just beneath her feet. “Bucks in the rut don’t want to lay down or be still, they want to either get in a fight or find a doe, and I’m going to use that to my advantage,” said Bachman.

Sportsman Channel Claws Its Way to the Top of the Food Chain with Original Series “Apex Predator” – Premiering Thursday, April 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

NEW BERLIN, WI (March 31, 2015) – It took man thousands and thousands of years to become an apex predator – the predator residing at the very top of the food chain. On Thursday, April 9 at 8 p.m. ET/PT, Sportsman Channel premieres an exclusive, original hunting series unlike anything ever seen before from Zero Point Zero Productions – Apex Predator.

For a sneak peek of what’s in store for the season, click here.

apexpred300 Throughout this Sportsman Channel original series, host Remi Warren will try to take viewers into the minds and souls of some of nature’s most predatory animals and give new meaning to the expression “becoming one with nature.”

Whether wading through alligator-infested waters or using the power of modern optics, Warren will meet with experts and professionals to learn about animals and their adaptations, design tests and trials to emulate primal hunting tactics, and challenge himself through intense hunts…animal style. Not only does Warren go into the wild to embrace the environment – he becomes one with it, showing audiences what it takes to legitimately become part of nature’s dynamic food chain.

“This show will give viewers a very unique glimpse into the minds of a predator, and how those skills translate to Remi’s approach,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production for Sportsman Channel. “He is able to explain and execute this approach in a way that entertains and educates the audience in a very compelling fashion.”

Each episode of Apex Predator focuses on three distinct phases: research, training and a free-range hunt test in which Warren puts his practice into action. First, Warren identifies the animal or tactic he wants to learn and then taps into the knowledge of real-world experts in the fields of biology, physiology and ecology to help understand how animals have evolved into amazing predators. With the assistance of expert help, he designs high-energy training regiments to adopt and embody the traits of these animal hunters. The final step in the process requires Warren to hunt like an animal, resulting in experiences and knowledge that help him in his quest to become the Apex Predator.

Apex Predator is a very different type of hunting show,” admits Warren. “The show combines the adventure of difficult hunting with an opportunity to learn about hunters that came before us. I do my best to understand the thinking of a predator and ‘become’ many different animals in the wild throughout the process.”

Sportsman Channel Showcases 2015 Iditarod Sled Dog Race with Two-Hour Special – “Iditarod 43: The Deep Freeze” on April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Emerging Dynasty as Dallas Seavey Completes Back-to-Back Wins

NEW BERLIN, WI (March 30, 2015) – “Dynasty” is not a word bandied around the sports world too often these days. But that may be changing as Sportsman ChannelOfficial Network of the Iditarod – is set to provide a two-hour special presentation – Iditarod 43: The Deep Freeze – on Thursday, April 2 at 8 p.m. ET/PT. At the end of the special, viewers may be convinced that a “dynasty” is in the making in the “Last Frontier.”

deepfreezeEntering the 2015 Iditarod Trail Sled Dog Race, the name Seavey has been etched onto the Joe Redington, Sr. trophy for three years in a row – Dallas in 2012, Mitch in 2013 and Dallas in 2014. Following the 2015 race, the name Seavey will once adorn the championship trophy and make it four years in a row as Dallas earned back-to-back victories and his third title in the last four years. Already in the record books as the youngest winner of the famed sled dog race, Dallas Seavey earned the 2015 title by completing the 979-mile Iditarod trail course in eight days, 18 hours, 13 minutes and two seconds.

Sportsman Channel’s Iditarod 43: The Deep Freeze will tell the stories of not only Dallas Seavey but also some of the other 77 teams that set out into the Alaskan Outback – where they fought off the perils of the Yukon River while spending their days and nights in 40 degrees below zero weather and blizzards off the Bering Sea Coast – to stake a claim on history.

“The grueling nature of the Iditarod Sled Dog Race is reality television in its most pure form,” said Marc Fein, executive vice president of programming and production for Sportsman Channel. “The drama that unfolds throughout the course of the nearly 1,000 mile trek is literally life and death…without a tribal council.”

Iditarod 43: The Deep Freeze is the culmination of Sportsman Channel’s 17 hours of Iditarod programming, as well as extensive print, digital and social media activation. Throughout the two-week programming stunt Iditarod Unleashed, the network gave viewers an inside look into the lives of the sled dogs and mushers, how they train to compete and what drives them to compete in the yearly endurance test.

Sportsman Channel is the Official Network of the Iditarod. The Iditarod – “The Last Great Race On Earth” – entered into an exclusive national television partnership with Sportsman Channel in 2013.
