New York Giants Defensive End Justin Tuck Sacks Big Game in Argentina on Sportsman Channel – Friday, Oct. 4 & 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

Giants All-Pro featured on Bowhunter TV in Two-Part Special from Argentina

New Berlin, WI (October 1, 2013) – While New York Giants All-Pro defensive end Justin Tuck is roaming the gridiron in the coming weeks for Eagles and Bears, Sportsman Channel will showcase Tuck’s off-season adventure in Argentina where he bowhunts in search of big game during an exciting two-part series on Bowhunter TV on Friday, October 4 and 11 at 9 p.m. ET/PT.

Tuck, an avid bowhunter when he’s not tormenting opposing teams’ quarterbacks, travels to the southern hemisphere with Bowhunter TV host Mike Carney to take advantage of Argentina’s red stag roar and a wide variety of other big game in the country’s Cerro Colorado foothills and mountains. Tuck likens bowhunting to football, and uses his All-Pro football skills when he finds himself face-to-face with a massive water buffalo at pointblank range.

Not to be outdone, Mike Carney demonstrates the perfect spot and stalk on a fallow deer as well. Tuck also will participate in a live Twitter chat (https://twitter.com/SPORTSMANchnl) on the October 11. The All-Pro lineman will answer viewer questions about the show and discuss his experience in Argentina.

New Berlin, WI (July 11, 2013) – Don’t miss the continuation of hard-core bull elk hunting in part two of Bowhunter TV’s fall series premier exclusively on Sportsman Channel this Friday, July 12 at 9 pm ET/PT. After 18 years of applying, Producer Danny Farris and his dad finally draw the public land elk tag of their dreams and head into the high desert country of northwest Colorado. This is public land, DIY action at its very best with two experienced elk hunters chasing monster bulls in their home state. And the father and son team’s trophy tags prove to be absolutely worth the wait, delivering pointblank encounters, incredibly broad-beamed bulls, and memories to last a lifetime.

Catch a sneak peek of the upcoming season on Sportsman’s Facebook page here: https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?v=10152952189980273

“This hunt proved to be everything we’d hoped for, and more!” said Bowhunter TV Producer Danny Farris. “Dad and I took a couple of great bulls, but what really made it special for me was sharing the excitement of so many incredible encounters. I’ve been following my dad through the elk woods since I was a little boy, and when it comes to calling elk in close, he typically has ice running through his veins. On this hunt, however, I got to see his ice melt!  I’ll never forget it!”

In addition to amazing elk action – and priceless elk-hunting insights – viewers get solid gear advice from Host Mike Carney and Equipment Editor Tony Peterson, who will share tips on peep-sight selection and building a bowhunting “possibles bag.” Pro archer Randy Ulmer will teach you how he preps a bow for the backcountry, and Editor Curt Wells will give away his personal elk-calling system.

Mike Hanback’s Journey to ‘Great White North’ Yields HUGE Results on Sportsman Channel

Big Deer TV with Mike Hanback Battles Elements & Spots a Predator of the North

New Berlin, WI (July 10, 2013) – Harvesting ‘big bucks’ once a year in Canada has become a way of life for Mike Hanback during the last ten years and that is not about to change. Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman, takes audiences into Canada for unmatched whitetail hunting with Mike Hanback. The latest journey north finds Hanback trying to snap his string of bad luck in Alberta and conversely maintain his success rate in Saskatchewan. The results in one of these Canadian locations will likely make viewer do a double take. Big Deer TV is an original television series that premieres exclusively on Sportsman Channel. Do NOT miss the ups and downs on Wednesday, July 10 at 8:00 ET/PT.

The frigid temperatures and the 20 mile per hour winds are certainly tough to deal with, but the elements will not deter the positive spirits of Mike Hanback as he searches for the buck of his dreams. Alberta proves once again to be tricky for buck sightings, however; there is a silver lining when Hanback has a memorable encounter with a massive grey wolf in the distance with an eagle soaring above.  The Canadian journey moves east from Alberta to Saskatchewan where his energy is renewed by several sightings of does and small bucks in the thick woods. Hanback did not have to wait long before a dominant buck rolls into the area and the adrenaline begins to flow.

“I could not believe the size of this old buck,” said Mike Hanback, host of Big Deer with Mike Hanback. “I saw this huge buck in my cross hairs and made a clean harvest. I have had a lot of luck in this location in the past, but this massive buck was my proudest moment in Canada. When I factor in the freezing temperatures and wind chill, the end result could not be more satisfying.

Big Deer with Mike Hanback Honors U.S. Veteran with Whitetail Hunt Tomorrow Night on Sportsman Channel

New Berlin, WI – (October 16, 2012) Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor television for the American Sportsman, brings audiences an episode every American can be proud of watching on Big Deer with Mike Hanback tomorrow night on the network. After receiving a heartfelt viewer e-mail, Hanback feels compelled and moved to extend an invitation to Captain Zane Keen of the U.S. Army to a whitetail hunt in his home state of Virginia. Captain Keen expresses a strong interest in the show and in his country and the end result is something Hollywood directors dream about. Watch Big Game Wednesday tomorrow presented by Wildgame Innovation with Big Deer with Mike Hanback at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT.

From the moment Captain Keen receives a whitetail hunting invitation from Hanback, he is thrilled and begins preparing for his trip from Fort Bragg, North Carolina to Virgina. The first few days are mixed with positives and challenges as the two men discover a lot of deer movement, however, not a great deal of “shooter bucks”. The weather elements are also standing in the way with serious rainfall and windy conditions. The pressure is palatable on the final day of the hunt and Captain Keen makes his move on a big whitetail. After moving to within 200 yards, he lines up his rifle and connects on a massive non-typical buck which makes the entire camp ecstatic!

“All of a sudden, I hear a gun shot and I have a good feeling about the result,” said Hanback, host of Big Deer with Mike Hanback. “As I approach Zane and see the huge non-typical buck, I begin to beam with pride and excitement for Zane and his journey on this great hunt. He’s been through a lot in life and this is just a small token of my appreciation to Zane and all of the great men and women that serve our great country.  Zane is an American hero and I’m proud to have him on our side and call him a friend.”

Big Fish and Successful Tips Highlight In-Fisherman on Sportsman Channel – Saturday

New Berlin, WI – (April 12, 2012) – Get your bait and tackle ready for a memorable adventure of fast and furious fishing and practical tips! Sportsman Channel, the leader in outdoor TV for the American sportsman, is all geared up to bring audiences a full thirty minutes of consistent “bites” on In-Fisherman.  Host, Doug Stange and other top-flightstaffers patrol the fresh waters of the upper-Midwest in search of HUGE walleyes and “giant” catfish. Catching fish in large quanities and showing viewers how to execute with the best tackle will be showcased during this MUST watch episode. Viewers can watch the non-stop action on Saturday, April 14 at 8 p.m.

The walleye fishing begins in overdrive on Prairie Lake in North Dakota as Stange trolls through the dirty waters and “pitches” the new Rapala Clackin’ Minnow lure for timber walleyes. In six to eight foot waters, the fish start biting early and often as Stange reels in an 18-25 inch fish. A few moments later, a 22-inch walleye bites and gives a battle that will leave audiences impressed with the execution of the Clackin’ Rap.

“There’s nothing quite like pitching a new lure, and the Clackin’ Minnow was certainly a big hit,” said Doug Stange, Host of In-Fisherman. “This lure is very effective and I really enjoyed using it as I caught several big walleyes that put up a good fight. I believe we shouldn’t mess with success – especially when you come across a good lure.”

The fishing action continues on the Red River in Grand Forks with new bait and new species. Dr. Rob Neumann and Captain Brad Durick are fishing for catfish during autumn months. The men begin using “Lazer Trokar” hooks and the results are immediate as both guys reel in 6-8 foot catfish. After changing bait to “suckers,” the bites kept coming as Durick fought an 8-foot “ugly stick” catfish that will leave viewers in awe!
