‘BuckVentures’ Marks Milestone Anniversary on Television: Celebrating 20 Years

BuckVentures Moves to Outdoor Channel, Airing Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. ET.

DENVER (August 10, 2023) – Outdoor television has evolved over the past 20 years, and no one knows that better than Jeff Danker, host of BuckVentures, now airing on Outdoor Channel Thursdays at 7:30 p.m. ET. Danker and crew celebrate 20 years of hunting, filming, editing, and delivering a new episode every fall for their die-hard fans.

One of the more recent changes BuckVentures has seen is recently moving to Outdoor Channel on Thursday nights. But Danker says the industry has embraced him and the series no matter where they are. “The hunting industry seemed so big 20 years ago, and now we know everybody. We are all friends, and it doesn't seem so big now. We are just a bunch of good old boys loving the outdoors and helping one another!” exclaimed Danker.

Danker and crew also have a second series, The Woodsman, airing Wednesdays at 9 p.m. ET on Sportsman Channel. And both BuckVentures and The Woodsman are available to stream on any device, anytime on MyOutdoorTV.

Creating a weekly, 20-minute television series is no small feat – from bad camera batteries to a deer that spooked to poor weather, Danker has seen it all. “Over the years, God has guided us. There were times I wondered if we would even make it. But God saw us through,” shared Danker. “When I first started, I didn't even really know who I was, not really. I finally realized I just had to be myself and let the chips fall where they may. God sure blessed that. Not everyone likes me, not everyone watches, but I truly believe I have put in my all, and God blessed that.”

Danker said he's had many highlights over the years of filming for BuckVentures. Still, one of the best memories involves his daughters. “Having my two girls, Gracie and Jaylee, on the show hunting was a treat. We laughed, cried, worked, and played, and we learned a lot! It was a highlight of the blessed 20 years God has given us,” he shared.

Of course, Danker has had help over the years in producing his show. From cameramen to editors to his current co-hosts, Daniel McVay and Cole Cannon. McVay was raised in Weston, West Virginia, where he grew up hunting with his father at a young age. He began guiding elk hunts in Montana, where he met Danker. Cannon hales from Aubrey, TX, where he started hunting at four and has continued since. After graduating high school, he attended Texas A&M University, earning a Sport Management degree. During this time, Cannon found a new passion in outdoor videography/photography, and started working for BuckVentures in 2019. He now serves as the Chief Producer/Editor for the show.
