February 2, 2024Experience a Culinary & Conservation Odyssey Starting February 12, 7 p.m. ET
DENVER (February 2, 2024) – Embarking on a voyage of taste and tradition, Fishing the Wild returns for an awe-inspiring third season on Outdoor Channel starting February 12. English restaurateur, hunter, and adventurous fisherman Mike Robinson will take viewers on a journey through Africa and the Mediterranean's rich tapestry of food cultures and pristine aquatic domains. This season, he delves beneath the surface, celebrating both the vibrancy of local seafood and the triumphs of conservation—as seen in the remarkable resurgence of the Blue Fin Tuna in British waters. Prepare to be immersed in a sensory exploration that combines the thrill of the catch with an epicurean adventure, right from the first-ever legal landing of a majestic Blue Fin Tuna to its transformation into a culinary masterpiece.
“This season, we learnt new techniques of fish preparation and I am on a physical and mental journey of how to dive and hunt fish under water whilst holding my breath,” shared Robinson. “I love every minute of making Fishing the Wild series, it is all about the people and the environments – I am like a child in a candy shop when visiting new places!”
From making ceviche on a boat in Madagascar, to spearfishing amberjack in Ibiza to being joined by a Japanese cuisine chef for a Salcombe shellfish adventure complete with a fire-roasted beach feast, this season of Fishing the Wild has more new recipes, and more new adventures, for viewers to sink their teeth into.
Fishing the Wild follows Robinson as he harvests the natural ingredients that make up some of his most famous dishes for his new restaurants "The Elder" and "The Woodsman." He learns and shares the many unique skills and techniques from his wild fishing crew of experts to sustainably catch amazing seafood and fish. As a chef, he also shares the professional methods and tips to help viewers at home elevate their wild cooking into truly Michelin-caliber food, both at home and over their campfires.
This series of part of Outdoor Channel’s “Taste the Wild” block of programming on Mondays, which also features MeatEater (8 p.m. ET), Feral (9 p.m.) and Dead Meat (9:30 p.m. ET).
