Outdoor Channel Introduces ‘Wild Upland’ Premiering April 18

DENVER (April 11, 2023) – GUN DOG magazine announces the premiere of Wild Upland, a heart-pounding upland hunting adventure show dedicated to passionate wingshooters and their beloved bird dogs. Wild Upland debuts on Outdoor Channel on Tuesday, April 18 at 6:30 p.m., with new episodes every Tuesday through June 20, 2023.

Hosted by Kali Parmley, Editor-in-Chief and Associate Publisher of GUN DOG magazine, and Associate Editor Nathan Ratchford, Wild Upland takes viewers on journeys through America’s untamed landscapes in pursuit of wild birds.

Wild Upland is an aspirational production dedicated to wing shooting adventure and the gun dogs that sustain the action. Blended with applicable dog training tactics, lessons in canine health and hunting how-to, viewers will gain knowledge on how to employ these tips to their own legend-worthy pursuits.

“We wanted to step away from the norm and create a unique television show that showcases passionate people, unique places, and most importantly, faithful bird dogs behind the sport we love most: upland hunting,” Parmley said.

The hosts of Wild Upland traverse some of the most remote locations of the United States in search of untamed adventure including Idaho for Hungarian partridge and California quail, Arizona for Mearns and scaled quail, South Dakota’s wild ring-necked pheasants, Maine’s Northwoods for ruffed grouse, and more.

“This show is dedicated to passionate bird hunters and their hard-charging sporting dogs,” Parmley added. “We aim to take viewers on exciting adventures through the uplands in pursuit of staunch points, unbelievable retrieves and the thunder of a wild covey flush.”
