Outdoor Channel’s Original Series ‘The Best Defense’ Seeks to Educate Viewers on Self-Defense and Survival

DENVER (April 19, 2023) – The Best Defense series, airing Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. ET on Outdoor Channel, is dedicated to educating viewers on essential tools and techniques needed for self-defense and survival. The highly-trained defensive advisors and show hosts, Richard Nance and Jeremy Stafford, provide viewers with the latest developments in home security technologies, empty-hand and grappling strategies, armed defensive skills and valuable legal advice.

Richard Nance is lifelong martial artist and recently retired Police Sergeant. During his 25-year career, Richard was a SWAT Team Leader and Defensive Tactics Program Supervisor. He has taught Firearms, Active Shooter Response, Taser, Less Lethal Munitions, Impact Weapons and Emergency Vehicle Operations. Richard is the Technology Editor of Guns & Ammo Magazine and the Self-Defense Editor of Handguns Magazine, as well as a frequent contributor to Outdoor Sportsman Group’s Special Interest Publication Division.

Jeremy Stafford has been a Police Officer with the LAPD for more than 24 years. During that time, he has worked multiple assignments, including Patrol, Narcotics, Counter-Terror operator, Training and Vice investigations. As a trainer, Jeremy has made his mark on the department by developing or helping to develop several of the departments more recent advanced training curricula, including the MACTAC (Multiple Attack Counter Terror Action Capabilities), which has become a national template for training Police Officers how to effectively counter a multiple location terror attack.
