Outdoor Sportsman Group Publishing Sees Growth in Print Readership Driven by Young Adult Males

DENVER (September 23, 2024) – Outdoor Sportsman Group (OSG) recently reports notable growth across its print properties, primarily driven by the young adult male demographic.

According to the latest 2024 MRI Spring Doublebase report, OSG’s MRI Reported Print Group, shows our male audience posting an increase of two percent year-over-year increase, rising from 8,190,000 in 2023 to 8,362,000 in 2024. This growth is a testament to the enduring appeal and relevance of print media in today’s digital age.

The significant driver behind this upward trend is the male audience aged 18-34, which saw a remarkable seven percent increase, surging from 2,388,000 to 2,558,000. Additionally, OSG’s male demographic aged 35-49 also contributed to this growth with a four percent increase, climbing from 2,003,000 to 2,075,000.

To put these figures into perspective:

  • The growth rate for men aged 18-34 outpaced our total male audience growth by a substantial 250 percent.
  • Additionally, the growth rate for men aged 18-34 was 75 percent higher than that of the men aged 35-49 demographic.

The driving factor is the increase of our young male audience is affluence – Household Income (HHI) $100K+.

  • Hunting – +21 percent, increasing to 143K from 118K
