Something Smells Reel Fishy for Labor Day on World Fishing Network
August 31, 2016Marathon Programming of Reel Fishy Jobs Airs Monday, September 5 from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET
DENVER (August 31, 2016) – World Fishing Network reeks of fish with a marathon of Reel Fishy Jobs on Labor Day, Monday, September 5 from 3-8 p.m. ET.
Show host, Mark Melnyk, is reeling viewers into the world of the most dirty, dangerous and daring fishing jobs around the globe. At the end of the 10 consecutive episodes, the audience will have experienced the best – and worst – fishing industry occupations.
Mark starts out the afternoon as a Marlin Mate, going toe-to-toe with white marlin in Ocean City, Maryland. He’s hooking marlin off the teaser to the long rigger like a pro. Then, Mark becomes employed as a veterinarian assistant in Chicago at the Shedd Aquarium, feeding sharks and cleaning house. Next up, Mark keeps busy by building artificial reefs and tagging native fish in Louisiana. Then it’s time to get his hands dirty as a chum manufacturer, grinding up rotten fish. Afterward, Mark is hired as a deckhand fishing for giant yellowfin tuna off the coast of Louisiana.
With great jobs comes great responsibility – working for the Texas Sharelunker program, Mark becomes responsible for the well-being and eventual breeding of giant bass. Then, Mark is hired to do one of the deadliest jobs on Earth – crab fishing in the north Atlantic Ocean.
No rest for the weary. Next, Mark fishes non-stop for three days trying to get his clients on giant Smallmouth Buffalo and Carp. Then, he heads for Florida to be a boat builder, constructing high-end skiffs for exclusive clients. Lastly, Mark works to bring limestone sinkers to consumers – literally, from the mines to delivery trucks.
How fitting that Mark performs all of this labor on Labor Day. When it comes down to it, viewers won’t be able to deny that Mark has some serious work ethic – whether it seems reel fishy or not.
