Attack of the Bass presented by Can-Am will air on Saturday, April 11 with seven hours of bass fishing programming at 8-11 a.m. ET and continuing at 4-8 p.m. ET.
Sportsman’s lineup includes (all times eastern):
8:00 a.m. – King of the River – Andre goes for striped bass at the mouth of the Petit Pabos River. He meets Rene, a local guide, at the crossing of the Gulf of St. Lawrence and the mouth of the Petit Pabos River where they find great action.
8:30 a.m. – Extreme Angler TV – What starts out as a calm overcast morning in July, turns into a cool northern wind, which gives the smallmouth bass a ‘lockjaw.’ This quick change forces Karl to abandon his original game plan in order to keep catching bass on a day when they don’t want to eat.
9:00 a.m. – One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – Shaw enjoys the privilege of introducing Iraq War veteran Alex Brown to some of Florida’s best bass fishing on a near-secret body of water known as Lake X. It’s a rare fragment of Old Florida, wild and unspoiled.
9:30 a.m. – Gypsy Anger with Ray Van Horn – Ray Van Horn and guest Scott Martin fish Scott’s home lake for largemouth bass on Florida’s Lake Okeechobee.
10:00 a.m. – Strike King’s Fish Hard – Fisherman Mark Zona aka “Z-Train” is more like a full-blown locomotive in the beautiful waters of northern Michigan. Pursuing smallmouth bass with Strike King’s Mark Copley, the typical Zona energy is full steam ahead near Traverse City as the two prove that early November can be a great time for smallmouth.
10:30 a.m. – Lake Commandos – Mark McQuown of Garmin shows host Steve Pennez his “East Coast” toughness.
4:00 p.m. – Bill Dance Outdoors – Bill Dance joins his friend, Captain Mike Tipton, in eastern Florida for some unusual air boat bass fishing.
4:30 p.m. – Bill Dance Outdoors – There always will be a few bass in the shallows that can be caught. That fact probably accounts for all the recent attention the shallow swimmer crank bait is getting. Today’s show answers questions about this super lure that will up the odds greatly for bass fishing success.
5:00 p.m. – In-Fisherman TV – The In-Fisherman staff reveals some of the season’s hottest lures, as they double-rig for world-class smallmouths, use swimmer systems for weededge walleyes, and rig weighted swimbait hooks and craws for shallow largemouths.
5:30 p.m. – In-Fisherman TV – The In-Fisherman staff use sight-fishing tactics for smallmouth bass, reveal the hottest jig trailers for largemouth bass, and buzz up some of the biggest muskies.
6:00 p.m. – Strike King’s Fish Hard – Near Traverse City, Michigan is some of the best waters in the country for chasing world-class smallmouth bass. Mark “Z-Train” Zona and Strike King’s John Barns attempt to utilize a technique almost never used in those northern waters…the umbrella rig.
6:30 p.m. – Strike King’s Fish Hard – While the rest of the country suffers frigid temperatures and heavy snowfall, FLW Tour angler Mark Rose is heating up the fishing waters of southern Florida’s Lake Okeechobee.
7:00 p.m. – One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – In the deep, clear currents of the St. Lawrence River in the North Country of New York State, often a bait is needed with the weight and compactness to go down and stay there. Shaw works it all out with his buddy Brian Jensen, who’s armed with his digital-mapping app.
7:30 p.m. – One More Cast with Shaw Grigsby – On some typical public bass waters in the South – warm, shallow, and weedy – Shaw reveals one of the hottest weapons in his arsenal: the square-lipped crankbait. With its erratic “hunting” action, this special lure triggers strikes from lunkers when other baits get the old ho-hum. Shaw hangs ’em, they run and jump and then burrow in bales of hydrilla.
