Ride Shotgun for the Season Finale of Sportsman Channel’s “Amazing America with Sarah Palin” – Thursday, March 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

NEW BERLIN, WI (March 9, 2015) – This week’s back-to-back episodes of Amazing America with Sarah Palin bring new life to old pastimes and traditions. Field hosts Jerry Carroll and Tara Conner learn how taxidermy, bass fishing and even one couple’s wedding vows are revitalized…with a unique twist. Ride shotgun on the road to amazing for the hour-long season finale on Thursday, March 12 at 9 p.m. ET/PT exclusively on Sportsman Channel.

aasp-finaleCarroll, no stranger to adventure, travels to Mosinee, Wis. to meet up with the owner of Custom Robotic Wildlife. The company combines the art of taxidermy and technology to create life-like mounts and decoys. The custom decoys are requested by hunters, as well as law enforcement, that use them in the fight against wildlife crime. Carroll gets the inside scoop on how the technology is built and an opportunity to see the decoys in action.

“Remote decoys are something to see…or not,” quipped Carroll. “They’re so much like the ‘real deal’ you wouldn’t know the difference.”

Carroll’s outdoor adventures continue, as he heads out on the water, where he learns what it takes to operate a cutting-edge patrol boat with a California game warden.

Viewers will then meet Modesto, Calif. native Lloyd Gomez, a man with a passion for break dancing, street style and…bass fishing. Dubbed the Bass Brigade, he and his crew put a new spin on dropping lures, as they scour the Los Angeles area for the best fishing spots around. This week, the enthusiastic anglers assist Conner in the pursuit of a trophy bass.

And the season finale concludes with a bang, as Carroll introduces the nation to Denise and Danny Salgados. Brought together by a mutual love of fishing and shooting, the happy couple is ready to renew their wedding vows – after 13 years of marriage – in an unforgettable way. Carroll awaits the arrival of the Salgados at a gun range/wedding chapel in Las Vegas, where he’s got a few surprises for the renewed newlyweds. And the day isn’t complete without a little explosive cake downrange. Viewers will have to tune in for a slice of what else is in store.

“You know me, I’m up for anything,” reflected Carroll, the one-time wedding planner and officiator. “Give me the opportunity and I’ll help make it one heck of a shotgun wedding.”

The Bristol City Bomb Squad – responsible for protecting the largest venue in the Bristol, Tenn. area, the Bristol Motor Speedway – trains diligently to ensure the safety of visitors, drivers and pit crews. The venue, attracting nearly 170,000 people during races, is equipped with state-of-the-art technology, as the squad must prepare to diffuse any situation that comes their way. Carroll’s experience at Black Dagger left an indelible mark. “This isn’t just a hunting trip for veterans, it’s a form of therapy and a way to stay connected to those going through similar experiences,” said Carroll. “It truly was an honor hearing stories and hunting hogs with such a great group a people.”

“Savage Outdoors” Four-Part Mini Series in Alaska Begins Tuesday at 10 p.m. ET/PT on Sportsman Channel with Tracking Caribou

First Episode Begins with Caribou Hunt in the Brooks Range –

Remaining Episodes Focus on Bears

NEW BERLIN, WI (February 23, 2015) – Mike Stroff of Savage Outdoors is no stranger to tough hunting conditions, and certainly won’t turn down an adventure. For the next four weeks on Sportsman Channel, Stroff and crew find themselves facing beautiful – yet difficult – terrain that gets them face-to-face with a nine-and-a-half foot bear. Tune in to Savage Outdoors exclusively on Sportsman Channel for Part One of the series on Tuesday, February 24 at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

SavageOutdoorsAlaska-300x300“What do you think of when you think of Alaska?” asks Stroff. “Unique, rugged, tough – it is a place to experience things you’ve never experienced before – it’s truly the last frontier.”

In the first part of the series, Stroff pursues caribou, which are abundant in the Brooks Range, but that doesn’t mean they are easy to hunt. “You can’t chase them, you have to get in front of where you think the herd might be tomorrow or the next day to even have a chance at them,” said Stroff. “They are so inquisitive. Some of them have never even seen a human before.”

The remaining three episodes, scheduled to air March 3, March 10 and March 17 at 10 p.m. ET/PT, find Stroff and his crew in a predator control unit where bears are abundant. Stroff brings his bow out for the remaining episodes for both brown and black bears and, eventually, the crew find themselves up close and personal with a nine-and-a-half foot bear.

“This bear footage is like nothing we’ve ever filmed before,” effused Stroff. “Not only did we get to see many bears, but we snuck in very close to them so I could get the best shot off with my bow. It will be a real treat for viewers.”

Savage Outdoors airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Tuesdays at 10 p.m. ET/PT.

“It is a humbling and awe-inspiring experience when you meet people who have a mission and stick to their guns without backing down,” said Conner. “These are kids who just want to live normal lives, and getting to experience the outdoors is a huge part of that.”

Bravery and inspiration continue as field host Jerry Carroll visits Kevin Shea, a volunteer firefighter, whose love of hunting inspired the founding of Hero Hunt Club. Saddle Up with Sportsman Channel’s “Amazing America with Sarah Palin” at the Priefert Family Ranch – Thursday, February 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT

NEW BERLIN, WI (February 17, 2015) – Saddle up with Sportsman Channel’s Amazing America with Sarah Palin, as former Governor Sarah Palin heads to the Priefert Family Ranch in Texas. The Prieferts show the former vice presidential candidate what it takes to manage 1,700 acres of land, cattle and a manufacturing plant. Palin gets plenty of hands-on experience and an opportunity to take on an intense hunt for wild hogs. Amazing America with Sarah Palin airs Thursday, February 19 at 9 p.m. ET/PT at Sportsman Channel.

Catch a sneak peek: here

SarahPalinPriefertsHorsebackThe Priefert Family – self-made, all-American ranchers – built a business from the ground up, becoming the leading manufacturer of goods in the cattle ranching and rodeo industries. Palin visits with the family members who started it all to learn how the Priefert Family Ranch came to be. And, she’s not afraid to get a little dirty. Palin actively participates in a hunt for wild hogs and gets behind the machines that build cattle handling gear. With a little help from the resident cowboys, Palin channels the spirit of the “Wild West” while learning the ropes of 21st Century ranching with her cowherding and riding skills.

“It fills my heart to know that it’s still possible in America to run a business based on family values – like the Prefierts,” said Palin. What really strikes you about the Prieferts is their humility. They couldn’t be more successful in their field, but it hasn’t gone to their head one bit. They stay focused on what’s important: family, hard work and giving back.”

Sportsman Channel’s “MeatEater” Indulges in a Jungle Feast on February 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT

Part Three of Steven Rinella’s Bolivian Jungle Hunt Brings Additional Surprises

NEW BERLIN, WI (February 17, 2015) – Hunting laws and regulations in the United States are vastly different from those of the rain forests in Bolivia. This is precisely the environment Steven Rinella finds himself while walking through the loud and eerie jungles of central Bolivia on the final episode of Sportsman Channel’s three-part MeatEater special. Despite the language barrier, Rinella has developed a rapport with the indigenous tribesmen during several days of hunting and fishing. The goal and challenge is to harvest a bounty large enough to feed the local tribe and end Rinella’s journey on a successful note.

meat-eater-finale Audiences can watch Rinella’s experience unfold on MeatEater – airing exclusively Thursday, February 19 at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

The host often talks and writes about his profound respect for how indigenous people harvest their food by any means necessary. The final episode of his South American adventure offers a vivid ‘A to Z’ account of how local tribesmen hunt and prepare for their collection of local foods. For the most part, Rinella has been a hunting spectator in the jungle thus far on his journey, but this episode may call on his skills.

“Bolivia was an eye-opening journey,” said Rinella. “Hunting is more than a lifestyle here – it’s a matter of survival, and to be able to hunt with individuals who have maintained a constant connection to the land for many years made this a special trip I will cherish and never forget.”

MeatEater airs exclusively on Sportsman Channel on Thursdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT.

meateaterThe environment throughout the villages around the river system is raw and untamed. A new adventure in foreign territories can bring uncertainty and a level of excitement. Rinella learns different hunting and fishing techniques from the locals, but also takes an introspective look into his personal food gathering beliefs and how they compare to those of the local tribes.

“I entered this adventure with no expectations and gained a new respect for how the indigenous tribes survive,” said Steven Rinella. “I don’t think it’s a stretch to say I was out of my comfort zone in this environment, but that’s one of the reasons I took the trip. This three-part series will be an eye-opening experience for our viewers.”

NEW BERLIN, WI (February 4, 2015) – The extraordinary 6,500-mile DIY hunting journey from New Mexico to Alaska comes to an end, as Petersen’s Hunting Adventures’ Mike Schoby enters “The Last Frontier” – Prince of Wales Island, Alaska – for the series finale of Petersen’s Border to Border. On a quest for the elusive Sitka blacktail, and with salmon and crab to catch, Schoby and guests experience a fitting end to a memorable 8-part transcontinental hunting expedition. btbFor the DIY hunter, angler and forager, Alaska is a paradise riddled with challenging landscapes inhabited by an abundance of wildlife. After traveling through six states and one Canadian province, Schoby and his wife Dory are more than thrilled to take advantage of all the Island has to offer. With the assistance of good friend and fishing guide, Rob Endsley, crab and the highly sought after Sitka blacktail are on the menu for the team’s final meal.

“This trip had its ups and down for sure. I mean, anytime you travel 6,500 miles and spend 45 nights in a tent, there are sure to be some trying times,” admitted Schoby. “But, overall, it was an incredible experience and one that makes me extremely proud of our public land hunting heritage. Very few other places have it as good as we do right here in America.”
